  • Number of recorded crimes of violence, sexual offences, domestic housebreaking, vandalism, drugs offences, and common assault (CrimeCount, count; SIMD 2020v2 glossary: a 2020v2 example, not verified for this edition)
  • Recorded crimes of violence, sexual offences, domestic housebreaking, vandalism, drugs offences, and common assault per 10,000 population (CrimeRate, rate; SIMD 2020v2 glossary: a 2020v2 example, not verified for this edition)
Table Type Nullable Category In the CSV export SQL Server type
history table (postcode_simd_history, SPD) rank no Scottish Government SIMD yes decimal(6,1)
main table (postcode_simd, SSPL) rank no Scottish Government SIMD yes decimal(6,1)

Provenance (the same in both tables)

Each table runs its own copy of the table-level checks, named .history. and .main..

Where it comes from

Input Field Condition Reaches the row by
data.gov.uk/SG_SIMD_2006/SG_SIMD_2006.dbf (pinned, SHA256 2730fae78d66…) crimerank DataZone2001Code = datazone

Scope: the row itself.

What was done to it: copied. The domain rank copied exactly as published; it may end in .5 where zones tie. (code: simd_ingest/core/govscot.py: read_gov_edition)

How it is checked (what each check tests; whether a build passed it is in that build's manifest.json["checks"])

  • source.hash.data.gov.uk/SG_SIMD_2006/SG_SIMD_2006.dbf: the pinned file's SHA256 equals the registry's: the bytes are exactly the ones reviewed
  • govscot.2006.columns_present: every declared shapefile column is in the file
  • govscot.2006.key_unique: each data zone appears once in the shapefile table
  • join.<table>.gov.2006.every_record_matched: every record found its data zone in the edition: no empty cell
  • readback.<table>.attached_values: every attached value in the saved file is looked up again from the sources and equal
  • govscot.2006.crime_domain.present: the declared domain rank column is in the file
  • govscot.2006.crime_domain.complete: every zone has a domain rank
  • govscot.2006.crime_domain.half_units: every domain rank is a whole multiple of 0.5
  • govscot.2006.crime_domain.range: every domain rank is between 1 and the number of zones
  • join.<table>.domain_ranks_half_units: every joined domain rank is a whole multiple of 0.5
